Add registration questions to create a candidate profile and pre-screen the candidates so that you can control who is registering.
The profile is visible when interviewing the candidate, and is available to you in any of the candidate-related reports.
Question types
Registration questions can collect different kinds of information from your candidates.
Question type | Description | Examples |
Text Input | Candidates type their answer into a text box. | • How many hours are you available to work each week? • When are you available to start? |
Multiple Choice - Single Answer | Candidates select a single answer option from a list of options. | • How did you hear about this job? • What is the highest level of education you have completed? |
Multiple Choice - Multiple Answers | Candidates select multiple answer options from a list of options. | • Which locations would you prefer to work at? • What days of the week are you available? |
URL Input | Candidates can enter a website URL | • Please provide the link to your LinkedIn profile. • Please provide the link to your portfolio. |
PDF file | Candidates can upload a PDF file. | • Please upload your resume • Please upload your portfolio |
Pre-screen | Allow or deny registration for your event. The pre-screen question follows the structure of a mandatory "Multiple Choice - single answer" question but also allows you to specific which answer options allow or block candidates from registering for an interview. | • How many years of retail experience do you have? • Are you legally eligible to work in the United States? |
Question fields
Field | Description | Examples |

Label | A label for the answer the candidate provides. The label is what is shown next to the answer in the candidate profile, and in reports. | • Legal • Years experience |
Answer options | For questions with pre-set answer options provide the answers the candidates can select. | • Yes • No • Less than 1 year • 1-2 years • 2-3 years • More than 3 years |
Make this question mandatory | You can set questions as optional or mandatory, except for the “Pre-screen” question type which is always mandatory when it is used. |
How to add registration questions
- Log in to https://www.tryhellohire.com
- In the top menu, go to Jobs
- Select the job from your list of Speed interviews
- In the left menu, go to Registration
- In the Registration and Screening Questions area:
- Click on Add question, or
- Click the edit (pencil) button on an existing question
- Select the question type
- Complete the other question fields
- If you are adding a Pre-Screen question click the Continue button and then select the minimum requirements to allow a candidate to register
- Click the Save button
