To participate in an interview on Hellohire, use a device with a microphone and camera. You can use a computer, phone, or tablet for your interview.
When you join your interview you will be asked to provide permission for Hellohire to access your device’s microphone and camera. You must grant permission for both your microphone and camera to join the interview.
Please if you see an error with accessing the mic and camera, first open the interview link in an Incognito/private window, it will ask for your microphone and camera permissions again and then you would click 'Allow' to enable them and then click the Continue button to move forward to the interview.
If using an incognito/private window does not work, then you will need to update the mic and camera settings using the guidance below depending on which device (Laptop, Android phone, iPhone) that you are using:
Troubleshooting
Unable to connect to interview – mic and camera permissions
Desktop/Laptop and Android devices – Chrome
This Google article provides instructions on granting mic and camera permissions in Chrome: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2693767
Apple iOS Devices – Safari
Provide microphone and camera permissions to “hellohireapp.com” when asked.
If you are not being asked to grant mic and camera permissions, you may have your mic and/or camera permissions for Safari set to “Deny” on your devices.
Open the “Settings” app
Tap on “Safari” > “Camera”/“Microphone”
Confirm that "Ask" or "Allow" is checked for both your Camera and Microphone
Go back to the “Safari” app and refresh the page
Use Chrome Incognito or Safari Private mode
Using Chrome in Incognito mode or Safari in Private mode will often re-ask you for Microphone and Camera permissions and may let you connect to your interview. Log out of Hellohire and then open up a Chrome Incognito or Safari Private browsing session:
Use Chrome in Incognito mode:

Windows camera access
On Windows, only one program at a time can use your camera. If you are trying to use Hellohire in Chrome, but another program has already claimed your camera, such as Zoom, Discord, Edge, MS Teams, etc. you will not be able to use your camera in Chrome.
Close all programs that could be using your camera and then restart Chrome.
Browser
Depending on the type of device you are using, Hellohire will either work best on the Chrome browser or the Safari browser.
Device Type | Recommended Browser |
Laptop or Desktop computer (Mac or Windows) | Chrome |
Apple iOS Devices (iPhones, iPads) | Safari |
Android Devices (phones, tablets) | Chrome |
