Let’s dive into how it works.

How to conduct interviews

How do I start a virtual interview?

  1. At the time of the session (or a few minutes before), log into https://www.tryhellohire.com. You will see the interview sessions scheduled for today and in the future.

  2. To enter the interview space, click on the Go to interview button.

  3. To make yourself available to connect with candidates, click the Start Interviewing button

  4. You will be asked to give permission for Hellohire to access your microphone and camera. Provide access to both.

  5. When a candidate connects, click the Accept button to start the interview.

  6. Rate the candidates and take notes:

    • The Yes, Maybe, and No is your top-level rating and is used to decide whether to move a candidate forward

    • Your team may have added 5-point ratings to evaluate qualifications

    • Take text notes

    • If you need to communicate with the candidate by text, you can use the Chat tab

  7. When the conversation is over, click on the End interview button.

  8. Finalize your notes, and then Submit and Close to make yourself available for the next candidate.

What should I do during the interview?

1. Ask your planned questions and engage with the candidate.

2. Take notes during the conversation if needed.

3. Use the scorecard to rate candidates based on key criteria.

How do I end the interview and update the outcome?

1. Click End Interview when the session is complete.

2. Choose the outcome: Yes, Maybe, or No.

3. Complete the scorecard by rating the candidate on each criterion.

4. Leave any relevant interview notes.

5. Click Submit and Close to finalize your feedback.

What if I need to update the candidate’s status or notes later?

1. Go to the Candidates tab.

2. You can update the Interview Status, Notes, and Scorecard at any time after the interview.

What happens between interviews?

1. You may go offline or wait for the next candidate to join.

2. If you have back-to-back sessions scheduled, the next candidate in the interview queue will join shortly after you let them in
